In this installation, i focus on the textile craft of handspinning wool. Using locally sourced wool, i started to learn how to create yarn out of sheep hairs, use carding brushed, and a hand spindle.
After months of practice, i learned how to make fine and thin thread and created an installation where the threads come down from a wooden grid and join back the mass of wool where they were spinned from. The installation revokes the cords of a puppet, a metaphor of the ruling force of spirit.
Being in contact with the wool, i let the material teach me how to work with it, and the installation became a metaphor of listening. How can we as humans learn to patiently listen to the spirit/soul/forza, how can we let that energy shape our life and bring it into forms we can´t yet imagine?
